Today’s ROAR value is RESPECTFUL, and our house is Amistad, the House of Friendship. January was about resetting how we treat each other. Let’s check the work.

Two important birthdays fall in February: Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln. Historian Carter G. Woodson chose this month deliberately in 1926 so the celebration would connect to people communities already honored. It grew into a full month in 1976. More about Woodson on Monday.
